What a Love! What a Sacrifice! What a Savior!

1 Corinthians 2:2

For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

As we look towards Resurrection Sunday, let us not neglect Good Friday. Let us earnestly take the time to reflect on the death of our Savior. I am reminded of the words of the apostle Paul: “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). This day is a solemn reminder of the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sins.

As we reflect on the death of our Savior, my heart is filled with a passion that burns like a flame. For there is no greater love than the love that was displayed on the cross at Calvary.

We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. And on this Good Friday, we are reminded of the depth of that grace. We are reminded that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). We are reminded that we are forgiven, not because of anything we have done, but because of what Christ has done for us.

Oh, my friends, let us not forget the cost of our salvation! Let us not take for granted the gift of God’s grace! For on this day, we are confronted with the reality of our sin, the weight of our guilt and shame. We are reminded that we have fallen short of the glory of God.

But we are also reminded of the great love of our God. We are reminded that He did not leave us in our sin but sent His only Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. We are reminded that Christ willingly laid down his life for us, taking on the punishment that we deserved.

Oh, what a love! What a sacrifice! What a Savior!

My friends, let us renew our commitment to follow him. Let us live lives that reflect the love and grace that we have received. Let us not be ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

On this Good Friday, may we fall on our knees in gratitude and awe. May we remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, and may we proclaim his name to all the world.
